if your still having problems after following this guide, open WinSCP and go to connection and change the timeout to 30 seconds. That should fix your problems.

Its timing out before you get to connect!

for all the people having problems with winscp try turning wifi off then on, on iphone then log in as soon as th ip address appears

i have tried everything above but i still cannot connect. i have never been able to connect. my ipod touch 2g is on 3.1.3 firmware. any help would be much appriciated

hi all,

Actually there is one step missed here. you need to install openSSH application. then use WINSCP as mentioned on this website, you will able to connect. you didn’t find the SSHhotkeys in the registry cause you don’t have openSSH application installed on your iphone.

I got the same problem and editing the «SshHostKeys» did not helped me.

Then I cleared all my previous WinSCP data concerned with the iPhone (register records, winscp info). Next, created a new connection with the iPhone (in WinSCP). Finally, it (suddenly) begun to work.

So, the suggestion — _remove all previous iPhone connections in the WinSCP_.
