iphone firmware 2.01

DO NOT UPGRADE IF YOUR iPHONE IS UNLOCKED UNTIL IT IS PROVEN SAFE. More details will be released soon.

For those of you brave enough to update make sure that AIRPLANE MODE IS NOT ON. It will brick your iPhone and may be permanent.

UPDATE: This is an important update guys. Apparently if you update or restore into firmware 2.0.1 and you have AirPlane Mode activated, there is a 99.99%-100% success rate of bricking your iPhone or iPhone 3G. More updates to come.

PROBLEM!!! I just updated to it with my iPod Touch and can’t downgrade it! What do i do?

  • truehybridx

YOUR kidding right??? airplane mode bricks?? i thought settings are reset??

to Juan: i suggest downgrade itunes to 7.5 and put your iTouch in DFU mode and use 1.1.4

(for DFU mode, hold the home n power for 10secs than continue holding home for 7-9secs)

  • Juan

i tried downgrading to 7.5 but when i tried opening it, it said that i could not open because my library was created with a newer version

Juan: alright bro, here’s what happened, iTunes 7.7.1 prevents downgrading fro firmware 2.0 or 2.0.1, that’s why, you must downgrade your iTunes and then restore, here’s my article on how to do it:

    https://limitededitioniphone.com/how-to-downgrade-iphone-20-to-114/

If you need help just ask me in this article or the other article.

truehybridx: No, man I’m afraid that we are not kidding. THis is a fact. Apparently in firmware 2.0.1 there is a bug that it doesn’t restet that stuff. And iTunes will give you an eror that goes a little like this :”iTunes was unable to restore the carrier settings and bundles” that means that you are screwed. What you have to do is, put it into firmware flash DFU mode. (hold power button and hold button for 10 seconds then let go of the power button when you hear iTunes recognize the iPhone/iPod touch keep holding the home button, until the iTunes DFU mode screen appears. The iPhone/iPOd touch’s screen should not turn on when iTunes shows it in DFU mode, the screen should be off)

Juan: Go to where ever your iTunes music folder is (usually on a PC it is in My Documents/Music/iTunes) then look for the file called “iTuneslibrary.itl” or anything that has the extension of .itl then rename that itl file and name it iTunes library.itl.old then start up iTunes, it will make the library for iTunes 7.5 and then you can restore. Put it in DFU mode though. Like what I told truehybridx.

  • Alan Vazquez

Juan: Your welcome! 😀 Don’t worry the Pwnage Tool and WinPwn 2.5 will arrive in a week or so.

truehybridx: Yeah man, I also hate Cydia. It has bricked my iPod touch like 3 times. All ii tried to do is install updates for Cydia or simple packages such as NES or Open SSH.
