Well guys, a lot is going on as we churn towards the new year. (Didn’t I tell you this would happen)
More specifically, rumors and confirmations of Apple’s 2010 plans.
First, let’s start off with January’s keynote. As you recall, Apple dropped MacWorld and this past keynote was their last. I believe this was more of a pre-emptive strike. Apple feared the worst for Steve Jobs, and they decided to start cutting off major “Stevenote” opportunites as a “future-proof” method.
Well, anyways, it seems as though Apple has booked a few days at the YBCA in late January. (This is where Apple gives the keynote on iPods and music) The booked event would suggest it being an Apple event and it would place the keynote to January 26, 2010!
So what can we expect from January’s keynote? The Apple tablet and a new Cable/Online Television service that Apple has been working tirelessly with major television names, such as Comcast and Viacom. Now, this would basically he a way to watch live television, but anywhere and at a low cost flat rate.
Apple is reportedly going to debut this new service in January’s keynote.
Now, onto the tablet! I’m sure you are all very excited for this. I constantly get questions asking for any new info on the tablet or anything. Now, this tablet is supposed to be announced on January 26, 2010, started to be mass produced in February, and then launched in March.
Not much is know, other than it either being a 7 inch, or 10.1 inch tablet. Now, according to rumors surfacing (literally) just a few hours ago, it will run a more sophisticated version of the iPhone OS.
It seems as though individual developers were contacted by Apple just a few hours ago, telling them to prepare their best application for a demo on a new “high resolution device”. Now, if this is true, this would place the January 26, 2010 keynote a little over a month away. About the time that Apple gives developers for their demos. (We were not contacted, lol. Don’t ask, but you better believe LEI Mobile will be ported to the tablet)
Now, more details are surfacing as the hours go by, but I am also being informed that all iPhone apps that are on the App Store will run on the tablet, and vice-versa!
So that’s what you should expect from January’s keynote. Now, if the March release for the tablet is true, that would also coincide with Apple’s yearly revelation of a new version of the iPhone OS. March could bring upon the announcement of iPhone OS 4.0. I am 98% sure that the keynote will be March 16, 2010. Sources are indicating this, as well as my predictions to support this new piece of information.
Now, the tablet could get the rev amped OS when it’s released in March, this would give the tablet some time to be bought and to make the high resolution app market a little bigger. Now, the March keynote will only carry iPhone OS 4.0 news.
Onto June. Oh June, this could be one of the most exciting keynotes of the year (as well as the tablet keynote).
First off, let me appologize. It seems as though my source didn’t take into account a minor extension on AT&T and Apple’s exclusivity contract. It seems that the December 31, 2009 expiration date was right, well, for the first contract anyways. My source says that they extended it “for the last time” in mid June of this year. So the AT&T exclusivity contract will end on, none other than, June 29, 2010.
So, the day the iPhone 1st gen was launched. Keep this information in mind as I tell you some more.
Now, it also seems that Apple has booked the Moscone Events Center for June 28 – June 5. Now, it carries the place holder “corporate event” which is something Apple always does. So seeing as though Apple’s keynote is always 1 day after the start of WWDC, guess what that day just so happens to be? June 29, 2010…
June 29, 2010 is when AT&T’s exclusivity ends. This would be the perfect day to introduce the iPhone 4th generation, not only that, have Verizon as a multi-carrier partnership with Apple.
If you can imagine Steve saying “Well… It’s been 3 years since the iPhone first launched….(blah blah blah)…. Well, we are very excited to announce that Verizon (and mabe T-Mobile) will carry the iPhone!” or a “One more thing…” type of ordeal.
Now, did I just say T-Mobile?! Yes I did. It seems that Apple wants the iPhone on as many carriers as they can. Seems as though Apple has been in talks with Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T! So what about Sprint? We’re not sure. I’m baffled as well, it seems that talks broke down between Apple and Sprint for some odd reason.
As I say, the closer we get to these dates, the more leaks we will recieve. Just remember who you heard this from first.
As a bonus, let’s talk about the iPod. Now, the iPod touch with a camera was supposed to be in September’s model, however, due to the thiness of the device, it had to be scraped. I expect an iPod touch with camera announcement to be as early as January’s keynote. Either in January or the regular September keynote.
So stay tuned everyone, because 2010 is going to be a huge year for the Apple community. (Make sure to kick 2010 off by downloading LEI Mobile v3.0)

The tablet is not going to be that great, just a big iPhone or iPod touch, but lol, a cheap iPhone on tmobile or verizon would be frickin sweet, 2010 will be a great year for apple!
Please verizon please
how bout all carriers so when can stop this dealing with carrier locks BS so we can focus on jailbreaking more/
Nice picture, though im not sure about MacBook Touch…. lol. If the tablet includes full support for mac apps i might buy, otherwise out of the question.
