Microsoft Admits Apple Is Better Than Them

December 15th, 2009 by Alan Vazquez · 5 Comments

Well well, what do we have here? It seems that Microsoft has finally admitted that Apple is better than them! (At least they mean in the phone market).

Microsoft UK executive Phil Moore was talking to a group of people who were asking him questions at the Connect! tech conference in London and he finally admitted that “Apple caught us by surprise…” he went on to say that Microsoft “…is still playing catch-up with Apple”.

Now, some of you may know that Windows Mobile 7 was supposed to come out very soon, but they have pushed it back to “late 2010″. Currently, Microsoft has Windows Mobile 6.5 and we all know that is a joke. Not even the worst iPhone wannabe’s OS are that bad.

Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.5 OS looks like something from 1990 to be honest. It’s barebones, ugly, and doesn’t really do much. (Insert a “Yo Mama” joke here! :D )

But really guys, in all seriousness, Microsoft really has a lot of work to do, and I doubt Windows Mobile 7 will be that much better than Windows Mobile 6.5. Possibly just more “touch friendly” but it’ll never have the same shine, beauty, and functionality of the iPhone OS.

Now, the first step is admitting it right? Now, they have to fix their crap, but in the meantime, Apple doesn’t have to worry about Microsoft anytime soon, but let’s just hope iPhone OS 4.0 is significantly better, because Google may not even be close to the GUI quality that Apple has, but Google is gaining some serious ground on Apple.

If there’s any company Apple has to worry about, it’s Google…

actually the pic on the right looks kinda stylish compared to the stock iphone homescreen, but now that the grid bounds can be eliminated with icononism(sp?) who cares lol

Microsoft isn’t Apples problem….Apple is apples problem…while I’ll agree with you iPhoneOS is great…it’s just an os…the important things are what run on it and Apple treats app devs like monkeys.

In a free market competition is good for everyone…especially the consumer.

I’m sure the fanbois out there appreciate how highly you speak of AAPL, but the only thing AAPL is interested in, is AAPL.

M$ sees mobile as a stocking stuffer…they own DT and NOS and server vertical markets…perhaps AAPL should focus on SL Server.

Ex_Spy_Guy: I have to both agree and disagree with you. We’re official iPhone App Store Devs and yes I agree, they have a lot of work to do, but Apple seems to be the only company who gives a damn about it’s developers. If you think Apple is bad, you’ve never seen every other company out there.

Apple makes our lives so easy as developers. They make such easy to use SDK tools. Making an app is still not for the average person, but it is really easy compared to other companies.

Yes. I agree, Apple is still a company. I totally understand that. However, I still classify them as the best tech company. MSFT may have their $$$, but Apple is just a company that you feel differently with. You feel that they care, it’s really something special that I haven’t seen with any other company on Earth. I can’t explain it.

Yes, MSFT only cares about further lining their pockets, but I think people should be outraged that they are paying good money for garbage. The iPhone is the only phone that you really feel that you get your money’s worth.

I don’t agree with what you said about Apple however. I think Apple is doing a great job. They are entering a lot of markets, not only that, it seems that everytime they enter a market, they prevail, and even dominate the market.

They also cause a ripple effect. They force other companies to get off their asses and make something that the consumer wants.

Originally, Apple’s plan with the iPod was to sell more Macs, that didn’t do much for Macs, but in turn, they dominated nearly 75% of the music player market. 75% is unheard of! It’S insane! If we only have 10.6% of our market and we’re #2, imagine how well you hace to sell. It seems virtually impossible.

Also, the iPhone was a plan to sell more Macs when they introduced iPhone OS 2.0. Now, that kind of worked, but again, they entere the phone market, they are dominating, and they forced the companies to get off their asses and make something the consumer wants.

The goal has always been to sell more Macs, but I don’t think what you’re saying is right. Apple shouldn’t just focus on Macs and Mac OS X. They are wayyy better off pursuing new markets and dominating them as they have been doing these past 10 years.

Yes, you could call me a “fanboy”, but I’m not an idiot. I don’t agree with everything Apple does. I also analyze what’s going on and then form my thoughts on a logical basis.

Well since microsoft admited that apple is better then what about the other part of the market witch is linux.Microsoft never said anything about them even thought they also kick microsoft’s rich fat ass .here is somthing interesting I figured out apple seems to have a really close replica of the Linux filesystem.

Great products no doubt. Hmmm,I think AAPL is just as concerned about lining their pockets as any good corp. should be.
I’m not a techie and find their products not too user friendly. Thank goodness for google to find out how to use the shit properly. Itunes seems just silly at times. Why can’t I transfer files from my ipod directly to itunes ? An attempt to encourage more buying from their store… and a major pain in the ass. Obviously there are programs to do it but why the need for back door reverse access…hey that sounds like a porn position.
