QuickPwn: The Next Revolutionary Method Of Jailbreaking

August 18th, 2008 · 9 Comments · Apple, Applications

Today, the iPhone Dev Team has officially announced a new method of jailbreaking. This time it will be available for Windows users. Unlike The Pwnage Tool, XPwn, or WinPwn, this method does not, I repeat, does not require a restore in iTunes using a custom firmware of any kind!

The way QuickPwn works is that it will modify the necessary portion of the SSL (Application Processor) inside the iPhone, iPod touch, iPhone 3G. So no restore is necessary. Now, unlocking is a totally different method entirely. Unlocking, remember, has to do with the baseband of the iPhone. Jailbreaking is technically achieved when all files are set for full read and write access.

Currently QuickPwn is in beta stages and isn’t for your average iPhone/iPod touch owner. This requires patience and paying very close attention. If you mess up, just restore back to 2.0.1. it is 100% impossible for QuickPwn to permanently damage your iPhone. QuickPwn can be found here. A few things to note:

THIS IS IN BETA SO BE CAREFUL AND ONLY TRY IF YOU THINK THAT YOU ARE READY!!! Also, this requires a PC running Windows and a jailbroken and pwned iPhone, iPod touch, or iPhone 3G running firmware 2.0.1. Good luck and happy pwning.

😀 Looks like it huh? LOL. Apple’s power is getting to be less and less over us. (iPhone wise)

so hey is installer 4 ever gonna come out for all fws or is it just gonna be 2.0

  • Alan Vazquez

I am not sure. I am not certain but I don’t think that it will come out for 1.1.4 and below, and her’s why: Nate True (Nullriver Software) doesn’t make it anymore. So since RipDev has no idea how to make installer for iPhone OS 1, I don’t think that they’ll update installer anymore. Now I may be wrong, but this sounds logical to me.

oh hmm that sucks he needs help

I’m ok wit updating but I’m not about to til they get swirlymms to work cuz thats what I need

  • Alan Vazquez

Yeah, applications like that should be up in a few weeks. I’m actually surprised that people have ported apps so quickly. Now it may not seem that way, but if you combine Installer and Cydia, they have quite a bit of apps up now. I need iPhonePCSuite to be modified for firmware 2.0.x because I need to set permissions. Or FileBrowser to be ported to 2.0.x,

yea n ibrickr just works without any problem with file access that is

  • Alan Vazquez

Yeah, but iBrickr doesn’t let you set permissions on specific files.

  • truehybridx

yea a nice list of things like that would be nice LOL
