You must first connect to iTunes with an Internet connection to enable YouTube

 youtube fix

Are you seeing the message “You must first connect to iTunes with an Internet connection to enable YouTube” after jailbreaking or unlocking your iPhone with firmware 2.0.2 and below?  For the longest time I have been using PwnageTool to jailbreak iPhones.  I recently tried QuickPwn and now receive the message “You must first connect to iTunes with an Internet connection to enable YouTube.”

In order to fix YouTube on firmware 2.0.2 you need to:

Download the LockDown files:  Here

Extract Lockdown.zip

SSH into your iPhone with a program like WinSCP.  There is a guide here

Navigate to /private/var/root/Library/  and delete the folder Lockdown.

upload the folder Lockdown that you extracted from the zip.

Open up the Lockdown folder and make sure all 3 files have permissions set correctly as pictured below:

Last step is to reboot your iPhone.  You are now running YouTube on firmware 2.0.2

Apple Is Still Trying To Make It Up To Us

August 19th, 2008 · No Comments

 mobile me

Today, I received an e-mail from Apple stating that they have made many improvements to MobileMe, but that they know that MobileMe users are very impatient with them, so they have given me, and the rest of the MobileMe customers another extension. This time they are giving us a 60 day extension for free, in addition to the previous 30 day extension.

So it seems that Apple is attempting to fix everything that has gone wrong with Apple since the very rough launch of the iPhone 3G, MobileMe, Firmware 2.0, and App Store. Will they succeed? I’m not sure, I think that they might if they don’t stray off track of what they stand for. Firmware 2.0.1 and firmware 2.0.2 have been released to hopefully fix the issues of both the iPhone 3G, and iPhone and iPod Touch since 2.0 rolled around.

August 12th, 2008 · 5 Comments

mackbook pro

Everyone out there, the iPhone Dev Team is asking for help. Apparently Pumpkin’s Macbook Pro just suddenly stopped working. He also had alot of work for the next major release of the Pwnage Tool. Remember, they do not accept donations of any kind. But this “is his personal cry for help”, so if anyone has a logic board (0r knows how to fix a logic board) or a loan Mac that they could have/borrow please contact them at blog.iphone-dev.org. Or if anyone lives around the Grafton County, NH area, please tell the immediately.
