Yep, a few days ago the iPhone Dev Team introduced “QuickPwn” to us all, but if you recall it was only compatible with 2.0.1, well hello hello, they have now updated QuickPwn, along with some tweaks and the new GUI, so it now works with firmare 2.0, 2.0.1, and now 2.0.2, they have added full functionality for the firmware’s mentioned. As you recall, it uses an exploit in which it creates a ramdisk and executes it. In the crafted ramdisk, a patcher modifies the OS for activation. So this makes everything much much faster. Remember, this is not like Pwnage, it does not update your firmware, if you use QuickPwn when you are on firmware 2.0, you will still have firmware 2.0, but it will be jailbroken and activated. Also note that QuickPwn is still technically in beta stages, so please, no complaining about it bricking your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPhone 3G, because you have been warned. If anything does go wrong, please leave me a comment or something, and I’ll help you the best that I can.
So finally, you can download QuickPwn here. So good luck and happy hacking! Also, there is no unlock for the iPhone 3G yet. Also, QuickPwn does not Unlock your iPhone, as of now.

If you were planning on buying an iPhone 3G this weekend, I say “Good luck with that”. After iPhone 3G’s 1 week anniversary of launch, it seems like no stores have them in stock. Especially in the big cities like New York and in lot’s of places in California. Not only are the shortages just here in the US, but they are world wide. Especially in the UK, where just a few weeks before official launch date, O2’s site had crashed due to the amount of iPhone 3G purchases and demand.
Today Apple’s stock went down 6.66 points (3.88%) as news of shortages hit wall street. So, save up your money for a few weeks, because if you manage to find a store where the iPhone 3G is in stock, you can say “Jackpot” because you are one lucky customer. This tells you a few things, like that people don’t care about any software glitches with Activation or anything, they just want their shiny new iPhone 3G. How long until more huge shipments arrive? How many will arrive? How many will be sold? Can Apple handle the demand? These are questions that Apple investors will be asking in the next few weeks, their stock depends on good and positive answers.

Yes everybody, the iPhone 3G is having many problems, both on AT&T’s side and on Apple’s side. Activations were ceased at 9:30 am Eastern Daylight Time nation wide. Many customers are being sent home with their iPhone 3G’s to activate them at home just like the 1st generation iPhone. Problems with Apple’s iTunes 7.7 have surfaced. The utility used to activate the iPhone 3G has apparently failed, and all Activations in the US have ceased. This launch is not going as smoothly as everyone thought it would. Problems with iTunes 7.7 started to occur last night after some users downloaded and installed iTunes 7.7, Some users had problems and others did not (like me). As you might imagine, there are many outraged customers that are standing in line as we speak. One man told Computer World that he was “getting quite perturbed” when told that there was a problem with activation.
Also the huge problem this morning is iTunes. iTunes is failing everywhere in the US. Countless people are having difficulties even opening iTunes. As of now a vast number of users cannot even access the iTunes Store. Also, when attempting to download iTunes 7.7 on Apple’s site, users are shocked to find a “page not found” error. Many users on online forums around the internet are having these problems. “It is stuck ‘accessing the iTunes Store’…” said Ray Camden of the coldfusionjedi site. “Apparently the iTunes Store is overloaded and the stripped down iTunes app that they have just hangs at the accessing iTunes screen,” Faas said in an e-mail update. Faas also said “So, right now I’m sitting at home with the same accessing iTunes Store hang on my computer….Oh well, at least I set to look at a shiny new paperweight in the meantime”
Now all of you who doubted me in the past few hours of users having problems with iTunes, let me just say that “I told you so” doesn’t cut it here. More updates on this iconic devices debut to come in the next few hours.

UPDATE: If you are having problems activating your 3G iPhone leave it plugged into iTunes for up to 20 minutes after you received an error message and it should activate it for you.

Apparently, another of Apple’s “partner’s” has let the cat out of the bag yet again. According to a leaked memo, there will be a special form of activation. Apparently there will be an “Activation-Only” version of iTunes. Many believe that this “Activation Only” section of iTunes will be included in iTunes 7.7 when it is officially released to the public in a few days. The memo also states that this “Activation Only” version of iTunes will be part of the “unbricking” process. Which leads me to believe that the iPhone 3G will not have an OS (Operating System) when you buy it. It might just have bootloader and the USB drivers. This seems like a clever idea, but I also hope that the iPhone Dev Team can unlock and jailbreak the iPhone 3G shortly after launch. Also, the full memo says that there will be a tutorial on Apple.com shortly after launch. Note that the beta version of iTunes 7.7 has this “Activation Only” method included. This is part of the memo: (The part that I can show to you all)
To ensure customers can leave with a fully functional iPhone, it must be first be “unbricked”. This process involves using the tether (a USB cable: see below) to connect/sync the iPhone to a unique ‘Activation Only’ version of iTunes via a computer. More information about the unbricking process will be provided in training (found on Fast Track and Sales Central) and you will be informed when the job aid is available.
More to come…
