UPDATE 1: Its official, I have created a petition. Please sign this petition in order to try to get T-Mobile to add more affordable prepaid plans or possibly to get them to bring back iPhone support for their prepaid Sidekick plan.

http://www.petitiononline.com/LEiPhone/petition.html

Please sign it, and tell your friends and submit a link to this article to as many sources as you can! Thank you.

Hey everyone. Well, as you may know, I have been on and off from here due to T-Mobile’s stupid idea to kill off any non-Sidekick phones from their Prepaid Sidekick Plan.

In a joint effort between some of our readers and some readers on other external websites, as well as myself, we had a temporary solution utilizing a VPN that served as a proxy for us iPhone users.

It worked! For a while that is. Until T-Mobile once again killed off our efforts and hard work on Friday at around 2pm of last week.

Well, enough is enough. I am calling upon all of you, I am calling upon the nation’s T-Mobile users. Today I am announcing a new project that will require assistance and cooperation from all of you.

This project will be called “p1nksn0w”. Pink due to T-Mobile’s pink logo and that’s their official color.

I am calling upon all of you who know someone with T-Mobile and especially on all of you who have T-Mobile’s prepaid (or post paid) Sidekick Plan.

I need those of you who have an actual Sidekick phone on T-Mobile’s prepaid or post paid Sidekick plan. We need to get some information from your phones.

It is in many people’s opinions that T-Mobile’s Sidekick’s are using a proxy. If we can obtain that proxy and the port that they are using, we can easily implement this into an easy to install cydia package or something of that sort and help everyone here in the U.S.!

I also need all of those who have found or created a proxy and port that works with T-Mobile’s Sidekick plan.

We cannot do this alone, this is a joint effort. All of you who would like to help (even if you do not have T-Mobile or even an iPhone) please say so.

We can do this guys. Please spread the word about this. Post a link to this article on every website you can think of. This has to reach as many people as possible in as little time as possible.

I want you all to catch the attention of major news networks and any other websites/organizations. I will do my part as well.

Thank you for reading this and I hope we can either push T-Mobile into allowing us to use their Sidekick plan again or have them make an affordable prepaid data plan for all “PDAs, smartphones, as well as the iPhone”, affordable, not their new, even more expensive solution ($55 minimum), “Flex Pay” + Data plan.

Once again, thank you and good night.

Breaking news here at Limited Edition iPhone, iTunes 8.2.1 has just been released by Apple. I do not recommend you to download it if you are either unlocked/jailbroken, or on a Palm Pre.

This not only kills Palm Pre support, but it might even kill redsn0w (the application) support, due to Apple possibly changing the USB protocol again for iPhone OS 3.1!

This is in preparation for the iPhone OS 3.1 update scheduled for “late summer”. So stay tuned for any new updates.

UPDATE: Alright guys, the new YouTube service should now work for all of you. On any post with with an embedded YouTube video, a link to tap on (for iPhone/iPod touch users) will be available on the bottom of the post.

Yes you heard/read right people, Linux has made it’s way to the iPhone! The announcement last night was filled with skepticism and disbelief, until the project’s leader “Planetbeing” (you all know him, he’s on the Dev Team and does an extraordinary job with the iPhone)

Well top names in the iPhone hacking community were involved in this project, such as Planetbeing, cmw (WinPwn creator), poorlad, ius, and saurik. They did an unthinkable task. They have created their own bootloader in order to allow Linux and the iPhone OS to run on the same device, side by side. They have created a “boot camp like” interface to choose between iPhone OS and a very rough copy version of Linux.

Why Linux you ask? Well, Linux and OS X are very much alike at the core. Both use BSD and UNIX. Windows uses a different Kernel, so that’s why they haven’t tried to port Windows yet.

Some drawbacks on the Linux port are that there is no touch available, it is all done through a USB console and it is command line only.

Alright guys, I’ll be updating this post very soon with some stuff that I’m working on (and isn’t done yet) I have a mini announcement soon you’ll see…

iPhone/iPod touch YouTube Video Service: Please Tap here to view the video on iPhone/iPod touch. Tapping here will launch the YouTube application on the iPhone and iPod touch.

Yep. You heard right. The two biggest names in the iPhone/iPod touch hacking community are battling it out for the big prize. The first to jailbreak the iPod touch (2nd Generation). Now, there is much speculation surrounding this story. Many people have been complaining that neither the iPhone Dev Team, nor the Chronic Dev Team have made any statements as to the progress of the iPod touch in about 3 weeks. Well, this is why: the iPhone Dev Team is very secretive of such information due to the fact that Apple could patch the exploit, thus ruining any chance of a jailbreak. This is the exact same scenario that happened with Project “Jerry SIM”, Zibri stole the exploit, thus ruining it for the rest of us. Apple patched the exploit, and the team had to start from square one.

The most efficient way to hack an iPhone or iPod touch is through Pwnage, a process in which the hardware is manipulated to allow the skipping of code checks. Well, this is all fine and dandy, but the iPod touch (2nd Generation) has a different ARM processor. It now uses an Infineon chip set, thus changing the ram disk keys and such.

Well, I think I have said enough about the actual process. I mentioned a race right? Well, it’s true. The Chronic Dev Team has acquired system dump files, thus allowing them to look for an exploit. Not much can be said to the public about the iPhone Dev Team’s progress, but let me just say that I think that it is very likely that we will all have jailbroken iPod touch (2nd Generations) by New Years Day. So stay tuned, and I really do hope that I am making an accurate assumption. More information as it comes in…
