WARNING: Fake QuickPwn And Pwnage Tool On The Rise

September 14th, 2008 · 4 Comments · Apple, Applications, iPhone, Mods

Guys, seriously, be careful, I have been recieving reports right and left of fake QuickPwn and fake Pwnage Tool’s circling on the web. Those fake QuickPwn and Pwnage Tool’s are bricking people’s devices, PERMANENTLY! So if you don’t want to be stuck with a $229 + unit, then please be careful when downloading stuff.

The QuickPwn site that has recently popped up is FAKE! It is not an official iPhone Dev Team web site, the contents of that site can brick your iPod touch or iPhone or iPhone 3G. I’m just here to warn all of you, so please don’t trust any site that claims to have a new QuickPwn or Pwnage Tool. Go to blog.iphone-dev.org to find all of the official, working, hacking tools. Or stay tuned with us here at LimitedEditioniPhone.com, we promise that only official links will be distributed when it comes to QuickPwn, Pwnage Tool, or WinPwn. Alright, good luck and happy pwning!

This is the webmaster of QuickPWN.com. It’s true that our releases of QuickPWN are unofficial, but the releases there are only temporary for Windows users. Once Dev Team releases the Windows versions the temporary solutions will be removed and updated. The QuickPWN there isn’t fake, it’s just modified to include the bundle for the new 2.1 firmware. It will do no damage to your device. The other QuickPWN websites may be dangerous, but not this one.

Hello, I’m Alan Vazquez, I am an administrator here with my friend Mike, yes I do know that the QuickPwn site is not official, but I have also had reports of bricked devices when using the quickpwn on your site, there are also numerous websites that popped up and some that have recently went dead, there are some fake QuickPwn sites, (sorry I may have confused you) there are some sites that redirect you to a “QuickPwn” site or a site that masks itself as a QuickPwn type site. Some people have not only experienced bricked devices, but there are also sites that give you viruses when downloading the alledged QuickPwn or Pwnage Tool. I appologize if I mislead you, I have visited your site, and I have not, as of yet, had any problems with any of the QuickPwn links that you provide. But you also must remember, I wrote this to warn people of malicious websites, not to blame you or diss your web site in anyway. I hope you can understand.
