Good news for all of the (unfortunate) Windows users, you are going to get a piece of the firmware 2.0 hacking action. CMW has announced that he will be updating WinPwn to 2.0 very soon.
This announcement by CMW answers some questions that I wanted to get answered, like if the iPhone Dev Team will also release a windows version of their highly anticipated Pwnage Tool, but it seems like they just might have given CMW the hacks required. Now, this next release of WinPwn should be fairly quicker than the first release due to the fact that he figured out how to make HFS a reality on Windows. Also, he won’t have to do much hacking (that is if the iPhone Dev Team is helping CMW) he would be coding most of the time.
CMW sounds fairly confident in his abilities in making WinPwn 2.0 a reality very soon. So with the iPhone Dev Team releasing The Pwnage Tool this week (according to some of my sources) and WinPwn coming out soon, I think that it is safe to say that everyone will be able to Pwn before August rolls around. Well….at least I hope so…….

EDIT:Hey guys, I just checked and I can now confirm that CMW has bought the iPhone 3G. And it sounds like he has found an iBoot exploit. He said that he was working until 3am. So I’ll keep you guys updated if anything comes up…
UPDATE: CMW’s winpwn and iPhone Linux sites are both down. There seems to be a technical glitch. They have been buggy or down since yesterday.
