1.1.4 YOUTUBE FIX:
1. Open installer and install BSD SubSystem, and OpenSSH NOTHING ELSE.
2. Restart the phone and connect to the phone via winscp or whatever program you like that lets you browse the file system.
3. navigate to /var/root/library/lockdown and copy the following files to your computer(for backup purposes)
data_art.plist
device_private_key.pem
device_public_key.pem
4. replace the old files with the 3 files you can download from this link: http://rapidshare.com/files/96711141/youtube.zip.html
5: restart iphone.
6: after restart, go to the activation_records folder copy everything in there to your computer. then delete everything in the folder from your phone.
7: restart the phone again
8: connect to itunes and your phone should be re-activated automatically with youtube working!
NOTE:dont delete anything from the activation_records folder untill AFTER you restart the phone in step 5.
if you find you arent getting service, simply put the original files you copied back + restart your phone and try again.
UPDATED: Easy youtube fix Should Work on all versions including 1.1.2:
1. Open installer, and install the update if prompted.2. Go to sources and tap Edit and Add3. Add this URL: https://limitededitioniphone.com/lei.xml4. Tap Done and then Refresh5. Go to Install (at bottom) and scroll down to the YouTube category and click the youtube fix

When I bypassed activation using Dvd Jon’s method, I was left without Youtube like a lot of other people. I will be unlocking my iPhone as soon as the unlocking software is released and want to have everything working. I decided to find the answer to the problem. Below are the steps that I took to reactivate my iPhone with Youtube.
0) Start your Windows Machine (MAC People Scroll Down).1) Update to the latest firmware by restoring in itunes.2)Download and install ibrickr and restore the phone to an unactivated state.3) Kill iTunes related processes.4) Jailbreak your iPhone following ibrickr’s instructions.5) Download and unpack this file:http://rapidshare.com/files/55289251/PACAY__by_brasuco_.rar.html or http://www.megaupload.com/?d=O8W10E2C6) Extract the files to a folder and run “(CLICK HERE)activate.bat” and wait. You will have a fully activated iPhone with Youtube. Credit goes to brasuco, Darkmen, and Deleonju

First:

What it does:1) it puts a patched lockdownd file in the /usr/libexec folder of you iphone making it factory activated.2) puts the three files where they go. (/var/root/Library/Lockdown/)No need to use iasign or independence to activate your simcard. Just make sure that you have “Community Sources” installed in installer.app.1. On the “sources” tab click “Edit” then “Add” https://limitededitioniphone.com/lei.xml click “Done” then “Refresh”2. On the “Install” tab find the YouTube category. Install the package.
3. Reboot! You should be all set

To get youtube working on 1.1.1 you have to put these 3 files: (link below)data_ark.plistdevice_private_key.pemdevice_publ ic_key.pem

Any word on a youtube fix for 1.1.4 yet? Totally lost my mail feature messing around on WinSCP lol(didn’t back-up). Any ideas on how i can get the mail app back without restoring? Too many cool MODs don’t want to re-install.

Didn’t work for me, I installed the files manually using SSH ; phone is freezing up now and acting buggy as hell. Sits on the apple logo forever, and doesn’t instantly start up. I’m not happy that I even tried this mod.

what version of firmware do you have? Did you install the right youtube fix?
I (had) 1.1.2 – I simply SSH’ed those files over / did the device certificate ; after that the iphone was acting REALLY buggy, and took forever to start up. Youtube was still a no go – it wouldn’t give me a ‘cannot connect’ msg, it would just open, wait, then quit. It wouldn’t sync, either – so I put the iphone into recovery mode, got 1.1.4 on there, ZiPhone’ed it – but didn’t install the ‘anySim’ App ; and the good news is – now YouTube works.

Hi, Mine is a refurbished iPhone with Version 1.1.4 (4A102).
I tried all the options mentioned by you..
1. Copying those 3 files.
2. pacay
3. removing all the files under pair_records
etc.. what not..
But still it is not working.. could you help me..

finally I got youtube. I tried the network RESET option. Surprisingly it worked 🙂
Before RESET, I installed all the files suggested in this forum. I don’t know which technique made youtube running
Babu, congrats. This seems like a random luck – I tried to do network resets in various combinations – did not work. At least your experience shows that being refurb is not a problem per se.
Can you tell me why YouTube would suddenly stop working in the first place? Is it because it was jailbroken or is that just a coincidence? My YouTube has been working quite well and as of this morning it crashes every time I try to connect with EDGE.
Jailbroke the phone a few weeks ago.
Update to above. YouTube doesn’t work on EDGE or WiFi. 🙁 It launches, thinks for a moment, and then closes and brings me back to the home screen.
Will your solutions help? As of now, the fix in installer did not fix it,

I seem to be having a similar problem to marc, et. al. It loads youtube for a half second and then boots me back to the home screen. Admitedly I didn’t have the patience to wade through all the comments here (I am without a computer and thus without a page search function) so I’m not sure if the problem has been solved. I am running 1.1.14 on a brand new iphne i got not more than two weeks ago and promptly jailbroke using ziphone. Any ideas other than a factory reset?

I solved my problem by doing a complete restore to factory default. :/
I just copied the lockdown folder from another phone and restarted – and it works!
If anyone needs the files let me know.
I did what you said but somehow when I copied the activation record files they became .url file. How do I change them back to a .pem file?

I have the same issue with my iPhone: unlocked the phone and everything works on wi-fi connection but YouTube. I have the 1.1.4 firmware and I`m afraid that restoring the iPhone might block it again.
What can I do to activate YouTube without blocking my iPhone?

I did the fix and it still hadn’t worked, so I went back in and installed the youtube activator and it works now!!!
