More news on the iPhone firmware 2.0 (beta 3). Apparently, The iPhone Dev Team has found a string of code reading “BRICKED_AND_LOCKED_SIM_STRING”. This line of code was hidden deep down in the 2.0 (beta3) firmware. This means that at any given time, only if you unlock your iPhone, your iPhone will brick.
Many sources say that the iPhone Dev Team will be releasing a new version of the Pwnage Tool. This will address this issue and others as well. There are also some suspicions that Apple will require a full activation before being able to install firmware 2.0. Apple is getting better at this, The iPhone Dev Team has to step it up as well to win this “cat and mouse” game. So maybe Pwnage might not be the trump card in this game. We will keep you updated!
