Hey guys, boy were we fooled. We all thought that iPhone OS 2.2 would come sometime near the Christmas season, but today I got a few hot tips from some of my very reliable sources, stating that iPhone OS 2.2 (gold master) will be available via iTunes as a free update on November 21st!
I have no further information of any new features besides the ones I reported on a few days ago, but you still have to remember who we are talking about…. Apple! They always seem to throw something in there that none of us even knew that we wanted. That’s what they are very good at. So guys, I’ll keep you informed as new information comes in…
its about time apple releases the update hope it offers what it says its suppose to offer we will have to wait and see
yeah, my article (the one that it links too) still stands. There have been no confirmed reports of any new features other than the one’s that have been reported here at Limited Edition iPhone. So yeah, I bet tons of people will be checking for updates on the 21st, I know I am. (I have the 2nd generation iPod touch, so I’m not too worried, I actually expect a huge security flaw in 2.2 for the new touch, just you wait and see…)
As for everyone else, let me just remind you that you shouldn’t update if you have an unlocked or jailbroken iPod touch or iPhone to the new 2.2 firmware, until we can confirm it safe.
A new version of the Pwnage Tool and Quickpwn should be available shortly after the new firmware is released.
