The Dev Team has done it. No need to pay iphonesimfree when you can unlock your 1.1.1 iPhone for Free. At the moment it will not fix baseband issues caused by the old version combined with an upgrade. This is meant for “virgin” locked phones only. You will need to repair your baseband manually. You can download AnySim here:
Do not unlock 1.0.2 and then update to 1.1.1. Updating a locked 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 will relock your iPhone. The team is testing a 1.1.1 restore on 1.1.1 unlocks right now. Remember guys: although the software here has been tested to make sure it avoids corruption–it does not hurt NVRAM/seczone–it is very new and has not had a lot of field testing yet. If you get a “failed to unlock” on 1.0.2, you’re still probably unlocked. Reboot and give it a try.

hi i just recently got a brand new iphone that my aunt who lives in the united states bought for me. I live in Canada and i want to unlock the iphone so that it will work with the Rogers carrier. I havent plugged it in the computer yet because I am currently looking for the best free software to unlock my iphone, i want both the newest iphone software (1.1.1) and a fully unlocked phone to be able to call people. I was just wondering if your unlocking method really works and will i be able to use the itunes wi-fi music store once my iphone is fully unlocked, and if i experience problems, will i be able to restore it to its factory settings ? thanks !
Limited Edition iPhone // Oct 16, 2007 at 3:19 PM
you are going to want to plug the iphone into the computer update it to 1.1.1 if it is not already, jailbreak it and install anysim 1.1. You will be able to restore if you need to.

I have unlocked iphone. I tried to get my iPhone to virgin mode, but i couldn’t do it. So will it be the new anysim software work with the unlocked iPhone?
Limited Edition iPhone // Oct 17, 2007 at 9:20 AM
You will not be able to use the latest version of anysim unless your phone is virgin. The dev team is working on an easy virginizer app
quang // Oct 17, 2007 at 12:33 PM
I tried to get my iphone to virgin mode, but it kept getting “command unknow”, then i went to itunes to restore. so how do I know that my phone in the virgin mode?
swiss dude // Oct 17, 2007 at 2:54 PM
I don’t really understand the term jailbreaking, i thought i would only have to install a sim unlocker software like anysim to unlock the phone. Can someone please help me ?
Limited Edition iPhone // Oct 17, 2007 at 4:24 PM
You will need to jailbreak in order to get the anysim.app onto your phone.
swiss dude // Oct 17, 2007 at 6:18 PM
ok and what does jailbreak actually do…. is it just to enable putting apps on the iphone?
Limited Edition iPhone // Oct 17, 2007 at 6:51 PM
basically it allows you read and write access to the phone

how can i install ANYSIM in my iphone? I use ibrickr to install ANYSIM but it did not work. So what’s software i have to use to install the ANYSIM. Thanks
Limited Edition iPhone // Oct 18, 2007 at 9:52 AM
You should be able to install anysim with ibrickr. What kind of error did you get?
Limited Edition iPhone // Oct 18, 2007 at 9:53 AM
Kotaro you will know that it is virgin if you have never tried to unlock it, or have viginized it.
QUANG // Oct 18, 2007 at 1:37 PM
My phone was unlocked before, and i made to virgin mode, and then i upgrade it to firmware 1.1.1. I use ibrickr 0.8 to modify my iphone, but the ibrickr kept running for like 20 minutes, and nothing happned. I have green screen, icon of itunes, and usb cable on my iphone screen. I tried seversal times, but it happned the samething. And when i used ibrickr 0.9, it made me have to downgrade to firmware 1.0.2 to modify my phone.
swiss dude // Oct 18, 2007 at 2:38 PM
i wanted to install the new version of anysim (v1.1) to get my phone working on the already installed 1.1.1 firmware (because my iphone is brand new out of the box, still virgin) but i saw that iBrickr with windows only jailbreaks iphones on 1.0.2. Are there any other jailbreak programs that work both with windows and iphone firmware 1.1.1 ?
Limited Edition iPhone // Oct 18, 2007 at 4:05 PM
The only way to do it on windows at the moment is the Tiff method I believe. I will put up a tutorial later tonight

I have a new 1.1.1 phone and live in Canada..i walked through all of the steps I needed to and did get the anysim program on my phone however when i try and launch it “press to unlock ” the screen just goes blank ? (I have itunes/web/you tube) etc but the anysim won’t load ?? also, i lost external sound through the 30 step process to jail break etc .. could this be I put my sim card in too early before I got to the “now put your sim card in?) I almost had it ??
Limited Edition iPhone // Oct 19, 2007 at 9:59 PM
you need to make sure you chmod 0755 anysim
Gary // Oct 20, 2007 at 8:30 AM
sorry, but what does that mean ?
Limited Edition iPhone // Oct 20, 2007 at 11:15 AM
you need to ssh into the phone and set the file permissions. Use winscp if you are on windows or terminal on a mac
swiss dude // Oct 20, 2007 at 1:01 PM
Ok and does the TIFF method to jailbreak 1.1.1 fimware without having to downgrade to 1.0.2 really work? If it does work, how can I do it ?

Hi, just to confirm…
If i had originally unlocked my phone and also updated to 1.1.1. Now i’ve used iBrickr 0.91 to restore my phone which is all functional besides calling…. installing anySim 1.1 will solve my problems with calling?
I’ve attempted to install anySim 1.1, after completing the bar i restarted and still did not recognise my sim…
any help would be appreciated,
Thank you,

viginize your phone and then follow this guide: https://limitededitioniphone.com/guide-jailbreakactivateunlock-virgin-iphones-v111-windows/

I just bought iphone and it came with 1.1.1 firmware. but I didn’t know that we could use apptapp and anysim with it so I downgraded to 1.0.2 firmware and then used apptapp and anysim 1.1 to unlock.
if I upgrade to 1.1.1 firmware now, what will happen? should I not do this without revirginizing?
thanks in advance
Limited Edition iPhone // Oct 30, 2007 at 6:51 AM
I believe with anysim 1.1 you are safe to upgrade. you will have to jailbreak, activate and run anysim 1.1 again.
selected cargo // Nov 1, 2007 at 6:31 PM
Do you have a simplified guide on how to “revirginize” a bricked iphone? The unlocked phone was bricked because of an upgrade to the 1.1.1 firmware.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

click on the post on the left that says how to restore to a virgin state
Confused Dude // Nov 7, 2007 at 3:24 PM
1. Jailbroke my factory 1.1.1 phone
2. Installed anySIM
3. Put in my T-Mobile SIM
4. Ran anySIM 1.1
5. Restarted phone
I got the “Different SIM detected” message. I tried restarting the phone several times, switching the T-Mobile SIM for the AT&T back and forth several times. The AT&T one works fine still, but the T-Mobile one just says “Different SIM detected” every time.
Relocked my iphone via the unlocking tool>oneSim; then attempted to unlock the iphone once more, same thing: The AT&T one works fine still, but the T-Mobile one just says “Different SIM detected” every time.
So I then, Restored my iPhone and followed the installation procedures, and got the same message.
What did I do wrong?
Limited Edition iPhone // Nov 7, 2007 at 3:41 PM
you have to activate your tmobile sim, every time you switch sims you have to reactivate.
Confused Dude // Nov 7, 2007 at 9:00 PM
1. TMobile Sim card inserted
2. Connect iphone to iTunes and I know receive the message from itunes: “There is no carrier that supports the installed SIM Card in the iPhone.”
3. Restart iPhone and repeat the above directions and achieve the same result.
BTW: iTunes version 7.5.0.20
Still NOT working, and i’m 10min from throwing the this across the room, but my patients is stopping me.
Help?

I’m in the same position as Confused Dude. Has anyone worked this out yet? Is it something to do with lockdownd?
Limited Edition iPhone // Nov 12, 2007 at 7:56 AM
download lockdownd from: http://rapidshare.com/files/63822007/lockdownd.zip
Extract it to a folder on you computer and then upload it to usr/libexec on your iphone

Limited Edition iPhone // Nov 15, 2007 at 12:38 PM
most of the guides are in their simplest forms so that you just read and follow the directions. What version of firmware do you have? 1.02, 1.1.1, or 1.1.2
