Guys, this is breaking news just arriving to us here at Limited Edition iPhone. Steve Jobs is taking “a medical leave of absence” from Apple due to his health! This is shocking news to us here at Limited Edition iPhone as well. It seems that Steve’s health problems are more serious that previously reported.
In a letter to the Apple community, he states that Tim Cook will be in charge of Apple while he’s gone. This does not mean that Tim Cook is CEO but, he will be in charge of day to day activities at Apple until “the end of June”. Apple stockholders are in a frenzy as Apple stock plummets for the third day in a row. Apple shares are down around 8% in after hours trading.
I hope that Steve will get better. I do not expect him to resign as CEO anytime soon. He did say that he would “look forward to seeing you in June”. Get well Steve.
We will keep you guys updated as we get more information on this developing story.
Here’s the letter Steve Jobs has just distributed:
Team,
I am sure all of you saw my letter last week sharing something very personal with the Apple community. Unfortunately, the curiosity over my personal health continues to be a distraction not only for me and my family, but everyone else at Apple as well. In addition, during the past week I have learned that my health-related issues are more complex than I originally thought. In order to take myself out of the limelight and focus on my health, and to allow everyone at Apple to focus on delivering extraordinary products, I have decided to take a medical leave of absence until the end of June.
I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for Apple’s day to day operations, and I know he and the rest of the executive management team will do a great job. As CEO, I plan to remain involved in major strategic decisions while I am out. Our board of directors fully supports this plan.
I look forward to seeing all of you this summer.
Steve
