Caterpillar.app is an app that lets you customize your iPhone in many different ways. It has 6 core features: Smart Dialer, µCaoendar, Reminder, FaceLift, Privacy, and System Font. You have the ability to pick and choose the modules you want to install. I installed all of the modules to begin with, but found out that I did not care for µCalendar and System Font, so I chose to uninstall them.
I left Smart Dialer installed but do not really use my dialer, most of the time I just call contacts already on my list. I also did not really understand what smart dialer did other than show who I was calling when I typed the number in. Smart Dialer gives you the options to just type someone’s name in your contact list and it will display a list of people for you to select and call. This is a really nice feature and many people will like it.
FaceLift is all about customization. It also gives you a 5 icon dock that can be reflective like the iPod Touch. Previously with 1.1.2 and bellow I had a 5 icon reflective dock. When I upgraded to 1.1.4 I was no longer able to have a 5 icon dock. This is my number one reason for choosing Caterpillar.app.
µCalendar displays your calendar as well as your events on your lock screen, I will not go into this as I could care less. Again some people will really like that feature.
Reminder is another excellent feature you can set your iPhone to beep at incremental times when you have missed a text or phone call. I really liked that feature on my old phone and was shocked that the iPhone did not include it.
System font is another module that I did not mess with. I am satisfied with the standard iPhone font and did not need to change it.
Privacy is a great features that many of my readers have been asking for. How do you hide the SMS pop-up preview? Well with caterpillar.app you can hide the SMS pop-up completely, hide the senders number or hide the message. This is a great feature if you do not want someone accidentally seeing your personal messages.
Overall Caterpillar.app is a great app and is the only way you can do certain things on your iPhone. Priced at:$20 for 6 months, $35 for 13 months, and $45 for unlimited. It may be an expensive app but so is the iPhone.

Nice article. I saw a youtube video a month ago on this, that app is way too expensive, if it had other cool features, then mabe I’d buy it…
