UniquePhones who claimed to have a software unlock for the public ranging from $25-$50 has delayed their release. They received a call from AT&T’s lawyers and are going to re-evaluate the situation. Hopefully something may be resolved where they release it to the public but will not be able to profit from it.
Since we can now confirm that there is a possibility to unlock the iPhone using software, there will be others trying to follow in their footsteps and recreate the software. This could take a few days or a few months, but the iPhone Dev team is still working hard on unlocking it themselves. As soon as we hear more information it will be posted here.
