1.1.4 YOUTUBE FIX:
1. Open installer and install BSD SubSystem, and OpenSSH NOTHING ELSE.
2. Restart the phone and connect to the phone via winscp or whatever program you like that lets you browse the file system.
3. navigate to /var/root/library/lockdown and copy the following files to your computer(for backup purposes)
data_art.plist
device_private_key.pem
device_public_key.pem
4. replace the old files with the 3 files you can download from this link: http://rapidshare.com/files/96711141/youtube.zip.html
5: restart iphone.
6: after restart, go to the activation_records folder copy everything in there to your computer. then delete everything in the folder from your phone.
7: restart the phone again
8: connect to itunes and your phone should be re-activated automatically with youtube working!
NOTE:dont delete anything from the activation_records folder untill AFTER you restart the phone in step 5.
if you find you arent getting service, simply put the original files you copied back + restart your phone and try again.
UPDATED: Easy youtube fix Should Work on all versions including 1.1.2:
1. Open installer, and install the update if prompted.2. Go to sources and tap Edit and Add3. Add this URL: https://limitededitioniphone.com/lei.xml4. Tap Done and then Refresh5. Go to Install (at bottom) and scroll down to the YouTube category and click the youtube fix

When I bypassed activation using Dvd Jon’s method, I was left without Youtube like a lot of other people. I will be unlocking my iPhone as soon as the unlocking software is released and want to have everything working. I decided to find the answer to the problem. Below are the steps that I took to reactivate my iPhone with Youtube.
0) Start your Windows Machine (MAC People Scroll Down).1) Update to the latest firmware by restoring in itunes.2)Download and install ibrickr and restore the phone to an unactivated state.3) Kill iTunes related processes.4) Jailbreak your iPhone following ibrickr’s instructions.5) Download and unpack this file:http://rapidshare.com/files/55289251/PACAY__by_brasuco_.rar.html or http://www.megaupload.com/?d=O8W10E2C6) Extract the files to a folder and run “(CLICK HERE)activate.bat” and wait. or
/private/var/root/Library/Lockdown ?
Because both paths have the same files in them.

I got my phone unlocked by my friends. When its in my hand, it was already unlocked. However, i couldnt use youtube and couldnt be able to retrieve mails from yahoo account.
My iPhone was still 1.0.2, and before doing the install i did kill all the related iphone applications by hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del (Window).
Make sure iTune is not connected. Run the file “activate.bat”, follow instructions, then restart.
1 shot youtube, and somehow im able to retrieve mails from yahoo now — happy face 🙂
They should be the same just replace both 🙂

Is there any possible way to make calls from skype – skype on iPhone? The idea comes from making calls without any carrier 😀
I tried to use http://www.s4iphone.com (which is exactly a small skype application running on iPhone); however, it requires “Skypeout” in order to make outgoing calls. Everytime i called my pc thru it, its ringing but disconnected 1 second rite after that. However, it also means this is possible because the signals get thru (because its ringing). We just need to somehow pass that Skypeout wall.
Any solution 😀 ?

I just wanna understand how y’all r connecting yr iphone to the computer just with the simple usb connection rite? people have reported that the search function is not working if you have the $5.99 t-zones plan… It is most likely that the search uses a different port for traffic.
Hey LEI, are you on Tmobile too and do you have the same problem? If not, what do you suggest I do? Do you think a future hack can solve this? If not, I can live with this. Its a minor issue but its bugging me that this is the only thing not working , lol.
I am on tmobile but not using edge at the moment because i breath wifi. Almost everywhere i am there is wifi. I may add the 5.99 plan soon. Is that what you are on?
Sorry for the delay, forgot the address of this site, lol….but yeah thats the plan I’m on, the t-zones 5.99 plan. If somebody could get the ‘search’ function to work on Edge, our phone would be so much more versatile because WiFi is not as well dispersed and hogs batteries.

I downloaded Paccay…extracted the files usinf winrar to a normal folder on my computer, then ran activate.BAT…but nothing seemed to have changed on my iphone? I am not sure if I am doing it wrong? when it said to reboot the iphone, i waited till it said slide to power off….then powered it off….restarted it and nothing changed when i rebooted it and tried to go on to youtube. Is there something else I should be doing? Please let me know. Thanks!

That should not happen from the youtube software. Plug you phone it and let it charge all the way and then turn it on. if not hold down the bottom button and then turn the power on and continue to hold the button until it says please connect to itunes and restore.

Still not working, after trying:
1) download the youtube_fix.zip
2) delete all files in /var/root/Library/Lockdown/
3)delete all files in /private/var/root/library/lockdown
4) copy files from youtube_fix.zip into both locations
5) ran PACAY bat file (which seems to duplicate some efforts)
6) even created the folder that someone suggested was missing above.
7) restarted a few times…
8) on windows xp …
9) didn’t try the “safe mode” approach that someone said above…
any tips would be greatly appreciated – do I have the wrong order of operations or something?

Go to settings–general–about to find your firmware. If you are asking for help their is no need to make a bunch of comments. Just list was firmware you have a the steps you have taken and where you are stuck.
