YouTube Fix For Firmware 1.0.2
When I bypassed activation using Dvd Jon’s method, I was left without Youtube like a lot of other people. I will be unlocking my iPhone as soon as the unlocking software is released and want to have everything working. I decided to find the answer to the problem. Below are the steps that I took to reactivate my iPhone with Youtube.
0) Start your Windows Machine (MAC People Scroll Down).1) Update to the latest firmware by restoring in itunes.2)Download and install ibrickr and restore the phone to an unactivated state.3) Kill iTunes related processes.4) Jailbreak your iPhone following ibrickr’s instructions.5) Download and unpack this file:http://rapidshare.com/files/55289251/PACAY__by_brasuco_.rar.html or http://www.megaupload.com/?d=O8W10E2C6) Extract the files to a folder and run “(CLICK HERE)activate.bat” and wait. You will have a fully activated iPhone with Youtube. Credit goes to brasuco, Darkmen, and Deleonju
OSX Intel USERS.
First:
Take your iPhone out of the box (or after doing a complete restore)Download this (from Rapidshare) http://rapidshare.com/files/54783302…cript.zip.html and decompress to your home directory.Download AppTap installer form nullriver (if you haven’t already)Step 1: Double click on the AppTapp Installer to install the Installer.appStep 2: open the folder ~/youtubescript and double click on Install youtube.termRestart your iphone. What it does:1) it puts a patched lockdownd file in the /usr/libexec folder of you iphone making it factory activated.2) puts the three files where they go. (/var/root/Library/Lockdown/)No need to use iasign or independence to activate your simcard. Just put any simcard from att/cingular and it will work.Update: If you have previously activated using iasign or iactivator or independence, then you need to delete all the files in the folder: /var/root/Library/Lockdown/activation_records before restarting the phone.Update2: If you already installed SSH then it’s easy to just scp the files over.scp the following files with the following commandsscp -rp data_ark.plist root@10.0.1.195:/var/root/Library/Lockdown/scp -rp device_private_key.pem root@10.0.1.195:/var/root/Library/Lockdown/scp -rp device_public_key.pem root@10.0.1.195:/var/root/Library/Lockdown/scp -rp lockdownd root@10.0.1.195:/usr/libexec/then restart your phoneremember to delete the files in the /var/root/Library/Lockdown/activation_records folder before restarting if you had previously activated with independence, iaasign, etc..UPDATEdownload these 3 files: http://rapidshare.com/files/55194961/youtube_fix.zip.html or http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QOK95RO2 and replace them in: /private/var/root/library/lockdown/*.*
=== YouTube Fix For Firmware 1.1.1 ===

OR TRY THE MANUAL METHODS BELOW
To get youtube working on 1.1.1 you have to put these 3 files: (link below)data_ark.plistdevice_private_key.pemdevice_publ ic_key.pem
in /private/var/root/Library/Lockdown
Next you need to copy the -DeviceCertificate key from the data_ark.plist provided in the zip file over to the plist /private/var/root/Library/Lockdown/activation_recordsfind below entry in the data_ark.plist<key>-DeviceCertificate</key>copy what is between<data></data>open .plist found in activation_records find <key>DeviceCertificate</key>paste between<data></data> If you do not have an activation_records folder:1). Create an empty activation_records folder2). copy the three files described3). remove all the files in the pair_records folder4). reboot Just a quick note you can use this method both in mac and windows.Use winscp in windows to transfer the files open .plist in notepad, make the changes and save with .plist extension.http://www.filefactory.com/file/9e0917 -Thanks Js29Easy Method:1. Download these 3 files2. Upload them to /private/var/root/Library/Lockdownd (overwrite the originals)If your carrier only provides GPRS connection, and you have updated to 1.1.2, I believe that you have seen that youtube.app works only with EDGE or WiFi. Today I copied the 1.1.1 youtube.app to my phone and guess what…It WORKS with GPRS! http://www.medi@fire.com/?dcjj1gipygj Copy to iPhone and set permissions to 0755..Replace @ with a. –Thanks Tonydeli7

I have a question. I have 1.0.2 unlocked iphone. I’m trying to make the youtube work because it doesnt connect. i did this
5) Download and unpack this file:
http://rapidshare.com/files/55289251/PACAY__by_brasuco_.rar.html or http://www.megaupload.com/?d=O8W10E2C
6) Extract the files to a folder and run “(CLICK HERE)activate.bat†and wait. You will have a fully activated iPhone with Youtube. Credit goes to brasuco, Darkmen, and Deleonju
It didn’t work. was i suppose to use ibrickr? all i did was unpacked the files to a folder in my documents and then i pressed (CLICK HERE)activate.bat i followed all the steps and my iphone rebooted but youtube still cant connect.
i also tried 1. Open installer, and install the update if prompted.
2. Go to sources and tap Edit and Add
3. Add this URL: http://i.unlock.no
4. Tap Done and then Refresh
5. Go to Install (at bottom) and scroll down to the Unlocking Tools category and click the youtube fix

If youtube is working on the wifi and not on the edge. You just need to set the password in
Settings/ General /Edge it will be setup for AT & T.
Mohammed // Nov 28, 2007 at 12:06 PM
Hi well as far as i am aware i have the correct settins for EDGE:
I am using it on Orange contract and its all been activated by them
The settings i have are:
APN:Orangeinternet
Username: Orange
Password: Multimedia
It doesnt really make sense as i am able to watch Youtube when im on Wifi but cant on Edge, plus the settings should be correct if i am able to use Safari, Weather, Maps, Stocks etc etc
Im really desperate here, please can someone help me as im considering just sending the phone back
Peter // Nov 28, 2007 at 12:16 PM
Username: Orange
Password: Multimedia
are for GPRS WAP and not GPRS
Try
Username: user
Password: pass
Mohammed // Nov 28, 2007 at 12:20 PM
Ive already tried that one … and it still doesnt work ?
Is there anything else i can check, i just want to get it sorted.
Is the phone faulty or is it a network/software issue ???
Peter // Nov 28, 2007 at 12:20 PM
A link for GPRS info for UK
Vodafone, Orange, T Mobile & O2 ???
http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html
Mohammed // Nov 28, 2007 at 12:34 PM
Ive definitely got the correct GPRS Settings for Orange.
So is the phone buggered, so i can send it back or is it something else ….
Peter // Nov 28, 2007 at 2:01 PM
If the phone works on wifi and not Edge/GPRS
it has to be a setting on your iphone or at Orange.
The only way to know is to try your SIM in a working
iPhone. Sorry.
truehybridx // Nov 28, 2007 at 8:08 PM
to limited, hey thanks for atleast trying but that mobilephone.app goes for 1.1.1, it just had different languages than wht my original has
to edge problems, first thing yall need is to get the APN patch to make your settings stay, then look on your old phone for that service and find where it has the login info such as the APN address
or you can call customer service n ask for the settings
ZenJim // Nov 30, 2007 at 7:33 AM
I upgraded from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 using the 1.1.2 jailbreak and now my youtube isn’t working. iPhone was jailbroken before and everything was working. Tried the youtube fix from unlock.no but no luck. Have tried the youtube fix from conceitedsoftwares help section but no luck. Have restarted phone several times. Any other ideas?
truehybridx // Dec 1, 2007 at 3:30 PM
well if your not on at&t youtube doesnt fully work unless your on wifi (or did someone fix that)
try it on wifi and see if it works period
oh when you were on 1.1.1 was itunes giving you any problems like saying the device cant be written to or read from or the device is not connected
it has to be 1.1.1 cuz when i use 1.0.2 it works just fine
ZenJim // Dec 1, 2007 at 7:00 PM
I’m on AT&T and tried it on my home wifi and work wifi. Had no problems when I was on 1.1.1 or 1.0.2, just having problems with 1.1.2.
truehybridx // Dec 1, 2007 at 7:32 PM
oh hmm cant help ya…. i havnt messed with .2 yet but y didnt you just haveitunes turn it on then if your at&t
ZenJim // Dec 1, 2007 at 9:21 PM
I’m not sure how to do that. I checked iTunes, but couldn’t find anything in there about youtube. How do you have iTues turn it on?
truehybridx // Dec 2, 2007 at 9:57 AM
i dont member sry…. for some reason my youtube never asked that even after i restore
eliqul // Dec 7, 2007 at 2:29 AM
i have the same problem as ZenJim, youube was working perfectly fine on 1.1.1 but when i updated it to 1.1.2. Youtube does not seem to work, and i tried it on my wifi, any help?
eliqul // Dec 7, 2007 at 2:40 AM
ZenJim I just fixed it, does your your tube says “cannot connect to youtube”? if it does, then you have t0:
1. add http://i.unlock.no,
2.go to unlock tools
3. instead of clicking youtube fix
4.click on youtube activation for 1.1.1
( dont worry about 1.1.1, it works for 1.1.2, i guess since i didn’t install it earlier, my 1.1.2 did not have the certificate to operate youtube)
5. install it, and your set
get back to me if you get it
truehybridx // Dec 7, 2007 at 7:45 AM
well did any of you try youtube before trying any patches cuz mine works fine considering I can search or anything just play….. mine is 1.1.2 with touch free jailbreak which kinda failed
Limited Edition iPhone // Dec 7, 2007 at 8:39 AM
if youtube worked on 1.1.1 and you just upgraded to 1.1.2 then it should just work unless you did something wrong.
Mohamed // Dec 12, 2007 at 6:26 PM
Just wanted to thank you it worked for me just fine !!!THNX ALOT!!u made my day for real!
ZenJim // Dec 12, 2007 at 11:01 PM
I restored my iPhone back to 1.1.1 and did the prep and upgrade to 1.1.2 again and it’s all working fine now. Not sure what went wrong the first time but everything is working fine now.

Limited Edition iPhone // Dec 19, 2007 at 4:29 PM
If you have 1.02 you should:
A. Upgrade
B. 0) Start your Windows Machine (MAC People Scroll Down).
1) Update to the latest firmware by restoring in itunes.
2)Download and install ibrickr and restore the phone to an unactivated state.
3) Kill iTunes related processes.
4) Jailbreak your iPhone following ibrickr’s instructions.
5) Download and unpack this file:
http://rapidshare.com/files/55289251/PACAY__by_brasuco_.rar.html or http://www.megaupload.com/?d=O8W10E2C
6) Extract the files to a folder and run “(CLICK HERE)activate.bat†and wait. You will have a fully activated iPhone with Youtube.
Or read above to do it on a MAC

Hello.
I have an OBT 1.1.2 version of the iPhone. I have managed to downgrade to 1.1.1 and jailbrake it. Then I upgraded to 1.1.2 and jailbreaked it in there as well.
I can’t get the YouTube to work though. I tried the one from this place. No luck.
Any suggestions?
Will // Dec 28, 2007 at 9:55 AM
Yeah nothing has worked so far, I think i need some activation records. I am using FW 1.1.2…jailbroken, not unlocked
Limited Edition iPhone // Dec 28, 2007 at 10:19 AM
TRY THE MANUAL METHODS BELOW
To get youtube working on you have to put these 3 files: (link below)
data_ark.plist
device_private_key.pem
device_publ ic_key.pem
in /private/var/root/Library/Lockdown
Next you need to copy the -DeviceCertificate key from the data_ark.plist provided in the zip file over to the plist /private/var/root/Library/Lockdown/activation_records
find below entry in the data_ark.plist
-DeviceCertificate
copy what is between
open .plist found in activation_records findDeviceCertificate
paste between
If you do not have an activation_records folder:
1). Create an empty activation_records folder
2). copy the three files described
3). remove all the files in the pair_records folder
4). reboot

I got my iphone unlocked at a shop and when I try to go to youtube it says”cannot connect to youtube” and when I ry to connect to safari it says” safari can’t open because it can’t find the server” but I am at home and connected to my wireless network and it says so in the settings. i tried doing the thing by opening installer and adding the url and when I try to refresh it, it says “Refresh Failed Could not refresh sources!” could you please help me out because my sister’s itouch is connected to youtube so its not a connection problem but i think its because the shop unlocked my phone.
Rick // Jan 4, 2008 at 3:27 PM
I have tried all of the youtube fixes and everything else described above. I am running 1.1.1 firmware on an unlocked iphone on tmobile. I am using a pc, Tzones is working fine, youtube works great when i am on wifi, but when on edge only plays some of the featured videos, and says “YOUTUBE NOT AVAILABLE” when i try to search or goto most viewed, etc. What do I do?
Limited Edition iPhone // Jan 5, 2008 at 10:35 AM
Celine you are not connected to your wireless completely. Try clearing all of your network settings and reconnect to your network.
Rick many of the youtube features do not work on edge. you can only play videos you have already viewed recently.
Celine // Jan 6, 2008 at 5:47 PM
THANK YOU so much!!!!!! that worked perfect!!! you are so smart thank you so so much you saved my life
Rich // Jan 6, 2008 at 6:44 PM
Hey buddy, i have a friend that knows a lot about iphones and he assured me that it is possible to have a fully functional youtube over EDGE even though he has tried to fix mine without any success LOL, i can only view the videos under “history” and the “featured” ones…..are you 100% sure that it isn’t a way to get a fully functional youtube over EDGE?
truehybridx // Jan 6, 2008 at 7:00 PM
i dont get it???? how come at&t EDGE works with youtube but none of the other networks…………
Limited Edition iPhone // Jan 6, 2008 at 7:09 PM
if you are using the 5.99 proxy hack then youtube will not be fully functional. You can get it
Fully functional with the 19.99 plan.
truehybridx // Jan 6, 2008 at 7:16 PM
hmm i really thought there wasnt much of a difference between em except the price…..
eh ill just keep up using the mirrors instead like mxtube
Rich // Jan 6, 2008 at 7:26 PM
Well i have always been using the $19.99 plan and as a matter of fact when i first bought my iphone it was unlocked with the 1.0.2 firmware, i updated it by accident and my friend re-unlocked it again so now i’m using it with the 1.1.2 firmware……..youtube used to work with the FW 1.0.2 before, but now it’s just not the same all i can watch are the videos under “history” and for some reason the “featured” ones even though the “YouTube Not Available” windows still pops up i can ok the pop up and watch the “featured” ones…..Mmmm very fishy…
truehybridx // Jan 6, 2008 at 7:39 PM
i think they just tried too hard with keeping it secure and ONLY AT&T and kinda screwed up somewhere
Rich // Jan 6, 2008 at 7:40 PM
Also my friend says that youtube should be fully functional on my iphone because it’s not an 1.1.2 OTB i just upgraded it by accident……but i still can’t get the damned thing to work 100%!
I have tried every single update and tweak to try to fix it and nothing, anyone please?

Just got my iphone running youtube. Yeyyy….currently enjoying it. Mine is on firmware 1.0.2.
I downloaded the three files. Then uploaded them into my iphone.
Opened the data_ark file in windows notepad. Copied text between the data key and paste it into the activation file (edited in windows notepad again of course). Then saved the activation record file and uploaded into iphone using ibrickr.
Restarted the phone and now enjoying it. Yeahhhh… after 4 days of figuring out…oooo forgot… this might help to understand the process…http://www.ging.co.nz/youtube.php… but do not copy his lenghty text… use the one in your iphone instead(use notepad on windows). good luck guys
