1.1.4 YOUTUBE FIX:
1. Open installer and install BSD SubSystem, and OpenSSH NOTHING ELSE.
2. Restart the phone and connect to the phone via winscp or whatever program you like that lets you browse the file system.
3. navigate to /var/root/library/lockdown and copy the following files to your computer(for backup purposes)
data_art.plist
device_private_key.pem
device_public_key.pem
4. replace the old files with the 3 files you can download from this link: http://rapidshare.com/files/96711141/youtube.zip.html
5: restart iphone.
6: after restart, go to the activation_records folder copy everything in there to your computer. then delete everything in the folder from your phone.
7: restart the phone again
8: connect to itunes and your phone should be re-activated automatically with youtube working!
NOTE:dont delete anything from the activation_records folder untill AFTER you restart the phone in step 5.
if you find you arent getting service, simply put the original files you copied back + restart your phone and try again.
UPDATED: Easy youtube fix Should Work on all versions including 1.1.2:

When I bypassed activation using Dvd Jon’s method, I was left without Youtube like a lot of other people. I will be unlocking my iPhone as soon as the unlocking software is released and want to have everything working. I decided to find the answer to the problem. Below are the steps that I took to reactivate my iPhone with Youtube.

And today I tested Youtube agian and its working perfectly.

I have version 1.0.2 on an unlocked iPhone. I installed my simcard from my Rogers cellphone and the iPhone is working with the exception of YouTube.
I haven’t connected the iPhone to iTunes or to my PC.
The phone came with Installver v2.63 and has an update for Installer version 3.0b8 ready for me to install.
The vendor has said not to update or restore the firmware, so I am unsure of what steps I should take to make YouTube work. I am getting the message “Cannot connect to YouTube”. I can browse web pages using my WiFi connection.
Should I follow:
1. Easy YouTube Fix?
2. YouTube Fix For Firmware 1.0.2
3. Steps 5 and 6 from YouTube Fix For Firmware 1.0.2 only.
Should I backup my iPhone using iTunes before I do anything?
Should I install the 3.0b8 version of the installer?

I install unfortunately the script on a unlocked iphone.
Now my Iphone is not reconized by Itune anymore,
this means that I can not acces to restore feature.
The iphone just it stuck between a full sim unlock and the activation, not able to load anything or to just do a full restore.
Does anyone knows how to force to restore like for instance with the use of the terminal?

hello! i ran activate.bat on my iphone. after restarting my iphone, i tried opening youtube, and it said “connect to itunes with internet connection to enable youtube”. so i try syncing my iphone and it doesnt work. my iphone is working my fine, but i cant sync my iphone with my computer. Make sure you reboot after you are done. You may need to reboot 2 or 3 times. Try connecting to another computer.

I tried both available you tube fixes in the installler nd neither of them work….BUT I did get it to work with those 3 files. and the copy paste solution…..fuckin awesome. I used fugu to connect to iphone… (open ssh) i used omni outliner to edit the file (copy paste) was very nice….. anyone needs help as I did . Yes the hack will work. if you read above. you just have to create a folder that is names exactly that… and the file in it. if you need these files let me know I will post them or thsy are probably already posted in thei forumn. as for the edge thing. that should be the same fix. I dont use edge cause thats a big rip off. just like the 2 year contract bullshit. ( for another topic) anyway..goood luck

If I understand correctly. I have a version 1.1.2 OTB hacked with TurboSIM iPhone. I have no activation_records folder. I am guessing that this means that I cannot use the method above that is described in red?
Or is that I can use the method above as long as I have created my own activation_records and put the plist file into it that you are going to post?
I am kind of a bit confused as to the method here for those that have 1.1.2 but no activation_records folder.

im using WinSCP to browse folders on my iphone
i replaced the three files in /private/var/root/Library/Lockdown
so now there are the three files,,and a file called .DS_Store that seems to be hidden or something.
since i dont have an activation_records folder,,i created one myself..and i left it empty.
i then deleted all the files in the pair_records folder. i restarted the phone.
but youtube still is not working. when i try opening youtube,,it loads for a while,,and then it says “load 25 more” thats it. i click on load 25 more,,it will say “load 16 more” or watever,,until there are no more videos. but i cant actually see any videos. theres nothing!!!
can you tell me EXACTLY what you have done?! step by step!! ive been tryin for several days now. thanks in advance.

3 files that you need …..as per instructions….1 file , the activation folder and file I have on my 1.1.1 iphone hacked…. fully!!! and the you tube application…as He stated earlier in this post….. just replace your 1.1.2 application of you tube with a 1.1.1 app and these files and it should work…..

I used the program for the computer to try to get my youtube to work but upon using it, my iphone stopped connecting to m computer at all. Not only does it not connect to itunes, but it actually isn’t recognized by my computer. I was really hoping that you might possibly be able to somehow help me. Is there a way to restore the iphone without connecting it to the computer?
If it helps, it seems to connect in iphone restore mode and even is recognized by ibrickr but it doesn’t seem to respond to the computer under normal circumstances.

1.0.2 easy to get you tube to work. You must make sure you have the corect boot loader as well. this will fuck up alot of other stuff. I bet that is the problem on the 1.0.2 version
vera. not sure what to do with you. sounds like you just wnat to start over now that you are in restore mode. you know you cant get outta that. I would restore with what ever version was on it. 1.1.1 or 1.0.2….nothing else……and go from there. that one needs lots of help…

I have firmware 1.0.2 on T-Mobile with $5.99 Data Plan. Everything works me except few caveats in YouTube
1. Search doesn’t work and throws an Error – Cannot connect to YouTube
2. Most Recent – throws an Error Cannot connect to YouTube
3. Top Rated – Cannot connect to Youtube
But, Feature shows some video, which I can pull up from the list and view them as well.
I tried the above hack, but unfortunately that didn’t work
